– Genuine Or Another Fraud? (REVIEW)

DateHookup is an online dating site, which promises to help you meet attractive single women and men without any charge for using the service. In this review we will investigate the scamming tactics that uses to deceive and rip off its users, since we have the proof that it’s not a legitimate dating service. Read our review to learn what to avoid getting scammed and how to protect yourself.

What we found suspicious on

  • Computer-automated emails and notifications are sent to you
  • is NOT 100% free as it claims
  • The site claims all rights over any posted content
  • can lawfully reuse and distribute your profile data on other websites

Evidence that prove is fraudulent

In the quest of finding solid evidence for the tools that we found suspicious on, we opened and carefully read the Terms & Conditions of use document. It was on this page where we found the proof for scams.

1) Electronic communication and notifications

Automated and false messages are actually the first deception you can detect on, since it is the first one that new members are exposed to. It takes only a few minutes for you to start getting messages from local women who seem to be very interested in you. Believe us when we say that all messages sent to you are made-up and sent by computer software to you and many other site members at the same time.

FROM THE TERMS OF USE: “When you join the website, you agree and consent to receive email messages from us or third party partners. These emails may be transactional or relationship communications relating to the Service.”

2) Legal Rights Over Your Posted Content

By agreeing to the terms of use, you agree that your photos, personal information, interests, and communications sent through messages or posted on can be used and shared on other dating sites run by the same company or by related companies. Basically, anything you upload or post on is no longer yours. Also, personal information of other users are used on this one and other services which means that other people’s data is shared on this site. Not to mention that this is done automatically, without any notifications sent to you and you won’t find out unless you read the terms of use document, when it may be too late.

FROM THE TERMS OF USE:By posting Content to any public area of, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, fully paid, worldwide license to use, copy, perform, display, and distribute such information and content and to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such information and content, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing.”

Also, in the terms of use we found a paragraph in which it is stated that the site has a right to create “test” profiles, which we believe are fabricated members’ profiles created by using real people’s information. We really see no other reason why a dating site would have the need to take, modify, reuse and distribute its customers’ profile data.

3) Subscription Fees and Upgrading Your Membership

If you are wondering why an online dating service would go through so much trouble to deceive you in so many various ways, you should know that is not a free dating service and will try to take your money. The fake profiles are being used to rick your eyes and make you believe there are many potential dates on the site, and then these profiles are utilized to send you automated messages to simulate that someone is trying to communicate with you. The catch is that when you see a woman and try to send her a message – you are asked to pay. Also, when you receive a chat, email, or instant message – you are asked to upgrade to a paid membership to be able to read it and respond. Here are your payment options:

  • $6.95 to purchase 1 month of subscription
  • $17.85 to purchase 3 months of subscription
  • $29.40 to purchase 6 months of subscription

The verdict on

It is clear that is not a legitimate online dating service, but rather an online scamming service. You are paying your hard-earned money to find a date and you end up wasting your time on a scam. Do not fall for it and do not forget to always read the terms and conditions of use, which can save you a lot of headaches in the future. is a part of the IAC family of businesses which include dating websites such as,,,,,,, and many other websites. 1. Not true I’ve met plenty of good woman in that site. 2 we were together for over a year.

  2. This site is one of the first results if I search my email address, minus the @xxxxx part. My picture, name and personal contact information are displayed as being connected to this site, which I have NEVER visited, joined, or authorized ANY use of my personal information. I have never even been able to access this site, I just get a 404 error code when I click on the link under my fraudulently used picture. I am currently in the process of taking legal action against this site’s webmaster, and the server it’s hosted on for identity theft, defamation, and illegally assuming the identity of another person. This site is a complete and total violation of personal and private information that they fraudulently post coinciding with illicit and damaging claims which show up at the top of the list anytime anyone searches your name online. This site and similar fraudulent identity stealing webmasters have done irreversible damage to both my personal relationships, and my business. I am having this site SHUT DOWN and it’s webmaster and server sued. This is the perfect example of the damage to every aspect of your life having ANY footprint online can cause.
